Maarten Paes

Maarten Paes, geboren in Nijmegen in 1998, begon zijn profcarrière als keeper bij NEC. In 2018 maakte hij de overstap naar FC Utrecht, waar hij zich verder ontwikkelde en regelmatig onder de lat stond. Op zoek naar meer speelminuten verhuisde Paes in 2022 naar de Verenigde Staten, waar hij aan de slag ging bij FC Dallas in de MLS. Daar groeide hij uit tot een vaste waarde en publiekslieveling. Sinds 2024 komt Paes ook uit voor het nationale elftal van Indonesië, het land van zijn roots.

Maarten Paes, born in Nijmegen in 1998, began his professional career as a goalkeeper at N.E.C. In 2018, he made the move to FC Utrecht, where he continued to grow and became a regular starter. Looking for more playing time, Paes transferred to the United States in 2022, joining FC Dallas in the MLS. There, he developed into a key player and fan favourite. Since 2024, Paes has also represented the national team of Indonesia, the country of his roots.
